Of course, if you believe the statistics, most relationships still begin with a real-life acquaintance, but more and more people hear from others “I/she met her husband/boyfriend on the Internet”. And if in real life you somehow fail to meet your soul mate, then the thought involuntarily slips through: since they succeeded, why shouldn’t I try to meet someone online myself? Pros of online video dating

This way of dating has certain advantages.

1. Goals and desires often coincide. People who are also looking for a life partner, need love and warmth, want to get rid of loneliness are registered in such places like dating websites.

2. If in real life relationships can’t be built due to psychological problems – in other words, it is difficult for you to communicate with unfamiliar people, you are embarrassed/lost – then the Internet allows you to relax and feel freer in communication.

3. A big pro of video dating is the ability to answer not immediately but after thinking it over first. There is an opportunity to re-read the messages, analyze, think about the answer. This goes for online dating as well, as you can start communication whenever you like.

4. Planning the first meeting. Preliminary Internet acquaintance allows you to prepare for the meeting, because the first impression is the most important.

But along with the advantages, there are also disadvantages of such a way of meeting new people and potential partners.

Cons of online dating

The very first and main one is the discrepancy between the image you represent and the real person. Even if you have seen their photograph, it is always slightly different from what you are going to see in reality. Moreover, they usually send you the photos that make them look better than they actually are (you will do exactly the same). In addition, during online communication, it may seem to you that you have almost found a kindred spirit, and when you meet, it may turn out that … something is wrong. It should be remembered here that a large layer of information during a conversation is carried not only by words, but also by intonation and non-verbal signals. During the process of exchanging text messages, you can’t really feel their emotions. You decipher the printed word through the prism of your perception, and, for example, you can think of subtle irony where the interlocutor was absolutely serious. It is slightly different when it comes to video dating, however, it is deeply intertwined with text messaging.
